Bespak is looking for a Chief Development Engineer for the Kings Lynn site, PE30 2JJ. The salary range for this permanent role is between £65k and £75k plus a discretionary annualbonus.Our generous benefits package includes 28 days leave plus bank holidays, 8% company pension contribution to employees 3%, onsite parking and medical / dental / health / life assurance / relocation allowance expenses.
Working Pattern We are flexible Work 7.5 hours + 30 mins lunch break, between 8 and 5, this could be 8am to 4pm / 9am to 5pm or a variation of this.Hybrid working- 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home, flexible to the needs of the business.
As Chief Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the integrity of our drug delivery device products and the design processes behind them. You will own the methodologies for how products are designed and ensure they meet quality, cost, and volume targets using Design for Six Sigma principles. You will provide technical leadership, act as a "Design Authority," and mentor development engineers while staying abreast of industry trends and future product needs. You'll also be responsible for managing design control processes, embedding robust design techniques, and overseeing the use of CAE tools. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products are designed safely and effectively, meet all requirements, and maintain our competitive edge.

We are a pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) that offers development and manufacturing solutions for a variety of medications, including medical devices such as pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDI), soft mist inhalers (SMI), dry powder inhalers (DPI), nasal sprays and medical check valves.
As a Chief Development Engineer, your duties will include:

Chief Development Engineer, key skills and experience:
- Chartered Engineer, degree in Mechanical, Product Design or related field.
- Demonstrable experience in robust product design.
- Design authority experience in precision drug delivery devices.
- In-depth knowledge of medical device NPI quality systems.
- Solidworks and project management experience in large programmes.
- Experience of working within an ISO 13485 quality system.
